False Hang-over

I woke up 8 in the morning. Hay, to early for a hang over from last night? Nah. Hindi natuloy ang supposed gimik ko. I wasn’t expecting that the “gig” would be push through.. tas etong si tina tuloy daw… I was preparing for my things and I waited for an hour before finally realizing tinulugan na ko ng tulog mantikang si tina.. hayyy

CNN Briefs: Women, Media and the Philippines

Anyway, I tuned in at CNN today and what I was able to see was this news feature about Academy Awards. There’s this emergence of women writers who get acknowledged through nominations in the Oscars. Astig. It’s a great deal for women dahil yung increase of their percentage nga sa writers category. Hmmm, hopefully by the time na I decide that I could write, I’d be having a place in Hollywood, and of course, maka-tie up ko si Rain, na mananalo ng Best Director Award sa Academy Awards. Heeheheh (BG MSC: MANGARAP KA)

One more news feature was about the common theme of the nominated films this year. Most of the films nominated were political and war movies. I wasn’t able to get the titles, I think its “into the valley of elah,” played by tommy lee jones (best actor nominee) which was about a grieving father of a military son sent to Iraq war. Some other productions were documentary about Bush Administration. The astig one were an animation about a girl growing up in Iraq, it was so astig, having this angelic looking girl waking up.. then performing a karate routine with the tune of “eye of the tiger.”

MEDIA: EYE OPENER MEDIUM

Wow talaga diba. I really do hope that we could do these also in the Philippines. In the first place the media is one powerful medium we could use to open the eyes of the people right? Eto na yung chance ng film makers at ng mga concerned citizens from the showbiz industry to take part in this revolution.

Hahaha.

Actually, this is what im proud of St. Scho, at least, even though we feel suppressed sa school, dahil our creative juices are not that encouraged to flow, at least we are asked to produce quality films/docus/write ups with social relevance.

Actually, its okay naman talaga to do love story or horror (I always dream of making a Zombie movie) pero pwede namang iincorporate yung mga social issues doon diba? Yung ang talagang artist, pag nakagawa ka ng movie na may subtle messages about the government.

Like my all time favorite Zombie movie, Dawn of the Dead/Land of the Dead (same director). At the first part of the film (forgot which of the two), there is a montage of wars, an almost dictator president and of course anarchy.

Tapos kukuha ng supplies at dadalhin sa center tower for the rich to feed on.

Sino kayang zombies diba? Parang yung mayayaman pa eh.

Now konek it to current situations. The zombies played by the nation, the rich people (played by themselves with body doubles from the government) parang ganon yung drama non eh.
