5'1, 160 pounds, flat 30 BMI. OBESE. I am.

diane, still in shock.

Yep, i know, i gained a little weight, pero sabi naman nila ok parin ang itsura ko. and besides my lovelife is so blooming right now? bakit kelangan pa magpapayat?

that was me, for the past three months. i never realized i really need to shred off some pounds. or say, narealize ko na, pero wala naman akong ginagawa about it.

Im already chubby. pero i started gaining extra weight this summer, nung nag-vacation kami sa Boracay. Grabe non, kain dito, kain don. Then, attend pa ako ng mga seminars non, alam niyo naman sa seminars, inclusive of breakfast, snacks, lunch, snacks again then dinner... at wala kayong gagawin kundi maupo at makinig sa mga boring speakers..... kaya anong epek, about 4 inch of massive fats stored in your katawan...

At ano pa ang naging lifestyle ko, for how many consecutive saturdays, i was pigging out on food (with my not soo healthy cousin, Kye).. we were eating kung san-san ang was swimming on softdrinks. lagi akong puyat at pagod, kaya in return, i was soo hungry at lamon agad. I also smoked a lot nowadays at nagrereklamo na ang lungs ko. Whatta life.

Imagine, i havent laid my foot in any of the boutiques sa mall, dahil alam kong wala rin namang kasya sakin... so shift ako sa divisoria, kasi affordable yung plus sizes nila... tas ngayon, i needed corporate attires.. at damn, 2XL na ang size ko!

nakakadepress talaga. Mashado na akong malaki.

Tuwing umaga, before taking a bath, I stare at my humongous (tama ba spell) body and pinch my belly to measure how thick the fat is. Pag nakaupo ako wearing shorts, kurot ko legs ko to check out how uncountable cellulites dwell in my skin....

Now, im currently under the slimming program of Bioessence, hopefully pumayat ako. Anniversary nila ngayon, kaya Buy 1 take 1 sila.. So may 10 sessions ako ng G5 (may machine na minamassage sa katawan mo to break down fats) then 10 sessions of SWEAT (firming ata to) and i got free 10 sessions of Faradic (for the tummy yata) and 10 sessions of Celluwave.. o diba, 40 sessions all in all...

Later, 3rd session ko na, i really need to shred off pounds. OBESE. who wants to be one?

First session ko, infairness, i lost 2 pounds, kaso i skipped one day of treatment and i gained 3pounds agad! fuck... sarap din kasi ng food ko.. kelangan talaga magbawas na ako ng kanin.. yun lang talga eh... 2nd treatment ko i lost 1.75 pounds.. halos himatayin na nga ako sa Sauna nun after the treatment.. pero it was worth it, sana talaga magtuloy-tuloy na..siguro i also have to work out.. or dance around probably?

Brand Conscious?

The last time I ever bragged about the brand im wearing was during gradeschool. "Hoy, bench yan, hoy Girbaud yan..." Well, I practically adapted that trait from one guy friend named Nino Fernandez (where the hell is that dude?).

So aside from that incident, I never recalled any time since then that I have ever attached myself into a clothing brand (or any apparel brand of some sort...)

I usually shop at 168 Divisoria or in Baclaran, and sometimes, visit the nearest UK here in Las Pinas... I often feel the "sayang factor" in spending my money sa branded clothes from the mall, but I do agree that those items are QUALITY items. or hindi rin? like Mossimo shirts often get loose pag nakailang laba na.. lalo naman ang Giordano... I bought a Folded and Hung shirt nung Sale, pero mahimulmol na siya ngayon... so hindi mo rin masabi na of good quality tlaga yung mga expensive branded clothes...

I actually dont know where im driving at, basta I just wanna make kwento what happened kanina.

The AM of one sporting apparel brand (from our company, OJT) noticed i was wearing a jacket of the competitor brand. So Ms. Miles said, "Hala ka.. you're wearing (toot)...."

Stupid.

Una sa lahat, I was talking to the Account Manager. I shou;d have thought of a witty answer like, "Ganon talaga, alam mo naman ordinary day lang ngayon saka umuulan, etong brand na to pang-sugod ko sa ulan to eh... pero yung mga (toot) na outfits ko, pang special occasion yun...."

If only i said that, maybe i couldve had my first freebies from that sporting apparel brand. Sayang. Pero suck up parin nuh?

Speaking of suck ups, may wrong move na naman akong ginawa last time. I met this lady from the Communication Camp i attended last week. She's from a BPO Company that offers Business IT Solutions (tama nga ba?). Any way, she's from the PR/Corporate Communication Dept... as usual, the bibo me, approached her and tried establishing rapport, like name dropping the persons i know that she might also know...

And so we established the rapport and she asked me how is my OJT?

I said, "Okay naman po.. Kaso walang allowance.." So she said, "Ayy, ganon, sana samin ka nalang...." Ako naman si tanga, "TALAGA PO?? ? Apply po ako sa inyo?!!! (eager na eager pa ang gaga...)"

At sabay atras naman si Maam, "Naku, edi ako naman ang nalagot sa mga boss mo..." (which by the way happens to be her collegues..).

Napaka-sell out ko.

Shit.

Im slowly entering the world of Public Relations. It is involved mostly in image building.... parang building stronger brands.. and i am my own brand.. dapat laging positive ang tingin sakin lagi ng mga tao.. sabi ng iba, its twisting the truth for the benefit of oneself.. pero sabi nga ng company ko, "Its your own version of the truth..."

So i need to project myself as someone as a hirable person, hindi sell out, hindi maninira ng company at hindi mag-iiwan sa ere...

Ano kayang magandang unique selling proposition ko? hmmmm....

Pero now, I realized na sobrang interesting ng world of PR... lahat ng love ko, andito, media relations, writing and editorial services, events and meeting new people.. saka money! Ayoko nang isiksik ang sarili ko sa Advertising kasi hindi ko alam if I'm fit for it...... una na nga lang sa hindi pag tanggap sakin ni Sir CJ sa JImenez BAsic eh...

So i guess eto na ang daan na dapat tahakin ko, I am now one of the brands sa Public Relations category... and i have to compete with other brands to make sure that i hold a significant share of the market.

OktobeerFEST Kick OFF Party This FRIDAY!!!!

reposted from:
http://justwandering.org/index.php/2008/08/28/third-eye-blind-oktoberfest-manila/

Yup, you read that right, San Miguel Pale Pilsen is bringing Third Eye Blind to Manila for the grand opening of this year’s Oktoberfest. On September 5, this world renowned rock band, along with Philippine’s top bands will be gracing one of the four stages along San Miguel Avenue. San Miguel is aiming to break two Guiness records with this year’s grand Oktoberfest: the most number of people toasting, and the longest bar. Apart from the copious amounts of beer, participants can also interact with SMB’s personalities, like Efren Bata Reyes and PBA players.

Through the years, San Miguel Oktoberfest has been enjoying strong support from the Filipinos, that the Department of Tourism now recognizes the event as a local Fiesta. Aside from the grand kick off party at the Ortigas Center, there will also simultaneous parties all over the Philippines: in Olongapo, Sta. Rosa, Lapu-lapu (Cebu) and Davao. San Miguel Oktoberfest 120 (siento bente) will span for 120 days, starting September 5, until December 2008. The kickoff party is open to the public. For only Php120, you can watch Third Eye Blind, Rivermaya, The Dawn, After Image, Rico Blanco, Pinikpikan and 35 other Pinoy bands.

San Miguel Beer is also premiering its limited edition beer, the San Miguel Oktoberfest beer. This beer is 100% malt, meaning it’s full flavored, light bodies, sweet to the taste and promises a smooth finish.

So… where will you be on September 5?

UPDATE:
To buy tickets for Third Eye Blind and Oktoberfest 120, call 632-2226 and look for Jel. Amanda called the number and shares this info:

"Apparently the General Admission ticket (P120) only gives you access to the longest bar and when I asked the employee from San Mig if you can see Third Eye Blind from there she said that it’s very far from the area. Ugh. So, if you want a really good spot you have to buy the “Gold Ticket” (or whatever it’s called) which costs P1500. Gives you access to all the areas and also a front view of 3EB playing. Purchase of tickets is in the San Miguel building itself."

Tickets can also be bought at the gates during the event proper, but I’m not sure if they would also be selling the Gold Tickets then.

Dilis Media further explains the Gold Ticket for 3EB access:

Ticket Type: Gold Ticket
Special Viewing Section: Php 1,500.00 per head inclusive of 2 San Miguel Pale Pilsens at General Admission Section and 3 San Miguel Oktoberfest Beers & food at the Special Oktoberfest Marquee Section
